I thrifted this lantern and immediately saw it as a birdcage. While I’m naturally drawn to vibrant colors—turning the outside into a bright rainbow—the inside captures a heavier truth: the despair of life, love, and death. Inside, two birds sit on a single twig, facing opposite directions. Back to back, they protect each other from the inevitable below. 🌈⛓️
